Third Ward Walking Tour

The Third Ward Walking Tour will introduce attendees to the heritage of Third Ward, a historic neighborhood in Houston and a hub for Black culture. The tour will highlight local businesses like Kindred Stories, a Black-owned bookstore; the Eldorado Ballroom, a venue that hosted musical legends like Etta James, Arnett Cobb, and Ray Charles and inspired the traveling event series by Solange; and Emancipation Park, which has hosted Juneteenth celebrations since 1872. We will close out the tour at Project Row Houses, a community platform that enriches lives through art where attendees will see a new exhibition and enjoy art, drinks, and music at Glow on the Row! Learn more about the neighborhood and upcoming events at thirdwardculture.org/calendar! This event is facilitated by Project Row Houses and the Third Ward Cultural District. It is funded in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
